Apex gets a new weapon, Havoc

Just a couple of weeks in, the game already has a new weapon.

Apex Legends has seen tremendous growth since its release about two weeks ago. It is being called the Fortnite killer, but to achieve that, the game will need to change things up every now and then, like Fortnite. Respawn seems to know about this pretty well.

After leaks which revealed some pretty huge features in works for Apex, we already have our first new added weapon just two weeks after the game's launch.

The new weapon is called Havoc. It is an energy beam assault rifle, and boy does it pack a punch. Along with Hemlock, it is Apex’s highest damage per shot weapon in the automatic mode. Add that to the fact that energy weapons have no fall off, it is a beast of a weapon. However, there is a catch to Havoc's strength.

Just like Devotion, the weapon takes time to wind up. In this case, it does not wind up -- instead it starts firing after a delay, which can make it difficult to use in close combat situations.

Then again, that can be rectified with a Hop up, the Turbocharger. The Turbocharger is mainly used to reduce the wind up time for Devotion. In Havoc’s case, it removes the delay altogether. The gun also has space for another hop up, the Selectfire Receiver. Selectfire Receiver was originally used on prowler to turn it burst mode to full auto mode.

But on Havoc, it can create havoc among the enemies. It gives an alt fire mode for one charged shot.

Now, this mode is actually powerful because the shots are hitscan, meaning they will hit the target WITHOUT ANY DELAY. This makes sniping with it an absolute pleasure. As of release, Havoc is the only weapon in Apex to support two hop ups and the only hitscan weapon available.
