BOOM.ID undefeated in Stage 1, Signify clutches through

Indonesian team Boom.ID is bringing an undefeated run into the next stage of PVP ESports Championship. Admiral also advances, as well as Indian team Signify who clutched in the tiebreakers.

After the first day of competition, both Filipino-team Admiral and Indonesian team Boom.ID were without losses. By the end of the day, it was the Indonesian team holding the lone distinction of being undefeated as they finished the groups with a stellar 5-0 record. The two of them easily made it into the top three, and thus advanced into the next stage.

It wasn't as easy to determine the final team to advance though, as three teams ended the group stage with an identical 2-3 record. A three-team tiebreaker between Signify, Resurgence, and KSY has to be played. KSY had the chance to advance outright, but the Indian team totally controlled them in a 57-minute high-stakes game.

That was the beginning of the end for KSY, as they lost both their tiebreaker match including the intense, back-and-forth 90 minute game against Signify. The latter rode that momentum and brought it with them in their match against Resurgence as they put pressure and ended it early with the help of their core Shadow Shaman.

With that, Australian team KSY and Singaporean team Resurgence bids farewell to the competition. Thailand's Hashtag, the lone winless team in this event, also exits the tournament. They will receive 6,000 USD per team for making it this far into the event.

Boom.ID, Admiral, and Signify will join invited teams LGD, Secret, and Fnatic in stage two today. These six teams are split into two groups, and the teams in the group will play against each other in a best-of-one round robin. Signify will be joining Fnatic and Team Secret in their group, while Admiral and Boom.ID will be with PSG.LGD in the other group.

From the six remaining teams, two will be knocked out today after the best-of-one round-robin stage. Today is the first day in this tournament that will be played in front of an audience.
