CCnC to stand in for Sumail at MDL Macau

This is the second time this year that CCnC will be standing in for Sumail.

With the new pro circuit system, players are getting lower downtime than they usually used to, and non DPC events further add to the stress. This can impact their performance as well as their health.

EG knows this pretty well, and have decided to give one of their most valuable players, Sumail (also known as the king of mid lane), a much deserved break.

Sumail will not be playing at MDL Macau.

The announcement was made on Facebook, in which they said:

In the interest of maintaining our roster's health, we have given Sumail the chance to recharge with a much-needed vacation. Evil Geniuses prioritizes our talent's ability to pursue their goals in a healthy and productive way, and we believe this is the best course of action for our player's well-being. We hope you can understand and support our decision.

He will be replaced by CCnC, who has formed a new team with Mason called Wut The Frog, for the duration of the tournament.

Sumail was also replaced by CCnC during ESL One Hamburg this year. At the time, the reason he could not attend was completely different—visa issues, as EG themselves reported.

It is to be noted that ESL One Hamburg and MDL Macau are both non DPC events. Sumail will be returning to EG for the Stockholm Major Qualifiers.
