This will be the second minor of the season, and third event of the Dota 2 Pro Circuit 2018-19.
The DPC 2018-19 looks packed. After the Kuala Lumpur Major, which is the first Major of DPC, PGL has announced that they will be holding the Bucharest Minor in January 2019. It will be the first Dota 2 event of 2019, and the second minor of the Dota Pro Circuit Season 2018-19.
The Minor will be held in PGL studios in Bucharest, Romania, which is the headquarters of PGL. It will boast a prize pool of $300,000, and a total of 500 DPC points.
The minor will have eight teams participating, which will go through qualifiers for their region. The slots are open for 1 team from North America, 2 from China, 1 from the CIS region, 2 from Europe, 1 from South America and 1 from Southeast Asia.
Online qualifiers for the tournament will take place on December 1-5. The main event, including group stages will take place in PGL studios from 2th January to 13th January.
Here is the breakdown for the prize pool and Dota Pro Circuit Points:
1ST – $125,000 & 120 DPC
2ND – $70,000 & 100 DPC
3RD – $35,000 & 90 DPC
4TH – $25,000 & 70 DPC
5TH – $15,000 & 40 DPC
6TH – $15,000 & 40 DPC
7TH – $7,500 & 20 DPC
8TH – $7,500 & 20 DPC
PGL is hosting the tournament in sponsorship with Secret Lab, which is a gaming computer chair company. PGL is also the partner for the first Major of the DPC 2018-19 season- The Kuala Lumpur Major, which takes place from November 9-18. The first Minor of the season will be the DramLeague Minor, which will take place in Stockholm, Sweden from October 29th to November 4th.
