Dreamleague to be the first Minor of the Season

Corsair Dreamleague Season 10 will be the first minor of the season, and it will have eight teams competing in Stockholm for 300,000 USD and 500 DPC points. The winner will also advance to the KL Major a few days after the finals of this event.

Corsair Dreamleague Season 10 will be the first event of the DPC season as it was announced to be a Minor in the upcoming cycle. The event proper is scheduled 29 Oct - 4 Nov in the Monster Energy DreamHack Studios on Stockholm, Sweden. Aside from the grand finals being best-of-five and all other matches being best-of-three, no details about the format has been announced yet.

The tournament will have its open qualifiers scheduled this coming 23-24 September, and the main qualifiers this coming 25-26 of the same month. Two slots each have been allocated for NA and EU, while the other regions (CN, SEA, SA, SEA) will have one apiece. For more details about the qualifiers, you can find it here.

500 DPC points will be distributed to the eight teams who will participate in this event. 300,000 USD is also in contention, with 125,000 USD going to the champion. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place team will get 70,000, 35,000, and 25,000 USD respectively.

More importantly, the winner will fly to Malaysia as they advance to the Kuala Lumpur Major which will start a few days after the event. The other 15 teams in that competition were decided through regional qualifiers done before the Minor. No team already qualified in the Major is allowed to join in the Minor, a new rule imposed this DPC season.

The past two installments of Dreamleague were also held in Sweden, with Dreamleague 8 played December last year at Jönköping, and Dreamleague 9 played March this year in Stockholm. Both were part of the previous DPC season, with the former being a Major (1M USD prize pool) and the latter being a minor (300,000 USD prize pool). Team Secret won both events.

The Dreamleague Minor is the first of five Minors this season and the first of ten DPC events before The International. Teams will look to qualify and earn points on these events, as the pro circuit points will be the basis of direct invites on next year's The International which will happen in Shanghai, China.
