ESL partners with Indonesian food and beverage giant Indofood to launch the first season of ESL Indonesia Championship in Jakarta with a boasting prizepool of $100000.
The championship series will feature the best Dota 2 and Arena of Valor teams across Indonesia in a three month span. Eight Dota 2 teams and other 8 AOV teams will battle out in an online groups that will lead to a LAN finals that will see a broader regional tournament.
ESL notes that the Indonesia Championship is their focus point in adding to the Indonesian esports ecosystem.
In a statement, Managing Director for ESL Gaming Asia Pacific and Japan Nick Vanzetti is grateful for the participation of the local partners in creating a platform for Indonesian players.
“Our partners are crucial in helping us to create the platform for Indonesian players to shine, with more opportunities to reach the global stage.”
Indofood Director Axton Salim shared similar thoughts, adding that Indonesian players can excel globally through events like ESL Indonesia Championship.
“ESL is one of the leaders in esports and we are very happy to be working with them to build up esports in Indonesia. Together with ESL, Indofood wants to provide an exciting platform and best experience for local esports players to achieve success. We hope with this collaboration, more Indonesian players will excel globally.”
ESL’s expansion to Indonesia is a continuation of the gaming giant’s exploration in Asia Pacific that began with consecutive ESL One events in the Philippines and Malaysia. Just recently, ESL announced the first ever ESL One LAN to be held in Mumbai, India.
All ESL Indonesia Championship action begins this week. Fans can watch official broadcasts from the new ESL Gaming offices in Jakarta on their official Youtube channel.
The ESL Indonesia Championship is presented by Indofood and Indofood brands PopMie, Chitato, and Indomilk together with partners ACER Predator, Elevenia.co.id, Ottopay and CBN Fiber.
