The New Champions Stage of the FACEIT Major London 2018 showcased interesting points. But as tough as it may be, four of the eight participating teams had to say goodbye.
FACEIT Major 2018 Final 4
MIBR, Natus Vincere, Team Liquid and Astralis are the top four of the FACEIT Major.
The real guns are here
The emergence of Complexity and HellRaisers at the single elimination playoffs was a good story to tell. Unfortunately for both teams, their Cinderella story was cut short after bowing out to MIBR and Team Liquid respectively.
MIBR shrugged off their less than lackluster season. They proved themselves by displaying an impressive 2-0 execution against the North Americans, summing a 32-16 round ratio in Train and Inferno.

Team Liquid meanwhile encountered a bigger scare against HellRaisers. The CIS dark horse as resilient enough to take 1 map against Liquid before bowing out 2-1.
The Americans continue their successful season as they climb up to their best finish yet at a CS:GO Major since finishing second at ESL One Cologne 2016 with a different lineup.
Still BIG, but Navi was bigger
Meanwhile, for Big Clan, an organization that mostly runs under the radar still manages to impress in the Majors entering the New Champions Stage with a 3-1 card.
However, just like their debut in PGL Krakow Major, their stellar run was cut short in another quarterfinal this time against Navi. The Germans stumbled heavily as they only gathered 8 rounds in total, handing Navi a quick and easy win for a semifinal ticket.
SEMIFINAL SECURED! 😍

The last series among the quarterfinal bouts was arguably the most interesting. Faze Clan and Astralis, two of the biggest names for the past years and two of the favorites to win the Major clashed at the very beginning of the playoffs.
And as how top-tier CS:GO should be, both teams delivered heavily. But it was the Danes who came up with the tougher nerves as Astralis beat Faze Clan 2-0. The Boston Major finalist suffered another heartbreaking meltdown in a close score of 16-14 in Mirage and 16-12 in Inferno.
