Gambit Esports defeats OG in WePlay Winter Madness

The TI curse seems to have stuck to OG, as they lost to the underdogs of the tournament, Gambit Esports by 3-0.

After shocking everyone by winning TI8, OG don’t seem to be having a great time this season. After their break from the scene, they revealed that their position 1, Ana had decided to take a longer break, and they brought Pajkatt to stand in. Citing probelms with ‘team chemistry’, they let him go and brought in iLTW in his place as a stand in.

But looks like they still haven’t quite found Ana’s replacement, as OG failed to live up to the expectations with both of them on team. OG could not qualify for the ChongQing Major while Pajkatt was on team, and now they lost to Gambit Esports in the Grand Finals of WePlay Winter Madness.

The defeat wasn’t a near miss for OG, as one would expect it to be. No, Sir! Gambit Esports completely Bulldozed the TI champions in the Grand Finals.

The first game ended in a mere 18 minutes, with OG losing miserably. Daxak’s Meepo was a bit too much for them to handle, and such an early finish meant iLTW’s Anti Mage had no time to come online. The second match lasted a full 40 minutes, but it was a bigger stomp. Gambit won this match with a score of 41-14. The third match was no different, as Gambit stomped the game 39-13. This match was especially painful for iLTW, as his Terrorblade had 8 deaths and no kills.

In the end, Gambit won the series 3-0, and took home $50,000 as the prize money.

It seems like OG has ran out of luck, and TI curse won’t be leaving them anytime soon. Do you think they will be able to put up a decent performance at Bucharest Minor?
