Mason returns to the pro Dota 2 scene

A lot of people come and go from the Dota 2 scene, but it is always something to look forward to when a retired player, or a player whose face hasn’t graced the scene comes back to play.

Fear, Puppey, Ceb, the three of them came back from a long hiatus from the pro scene. The most recent one seems to be Mason, who has apparently formed a team with CCnC.

The Dota 2 Pro has come together with CCnC to form Wut The Frog.

A refresher for those who’ve forgotten; Mason was in the 2014 EG roster which secured the 3rd position at TI4. Shortly after that, he left the team and went inactive. He later formed a team with Fogged and Demon, called High Council of Wizards&Priests. A few teams later, Mason formed Team Onyx with Demon, Bulba, Abed and Dubu. The team was picked up by Digital Chaos and qualified for Kiev Major 2017 and TI7.

This year hasn’t been quite great for CCnC though. OpTic Gaming, CCnC’s earlier team, disbanded after TI8. Thereafter, his new team was picked up by paiN gaming, known as paiN X.

But the team did not last for long, as CCnC and other departed from paiN X to form Test123, but without their teammate 4dr. Even Tset123’s run was short lived, as Valve disqualified the team from Chongqing Major. The disqualification came after PPD objected to the fact that Test123 had North American players, who lived in North America and yet they were playing in the South American Qualifiers.

The new team, Wut The Frog appeared on FACEIT as one of the team registered for the open qualifiers of the Starladder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor.

The roster for the Wut the Frog is:

Mason ‘mason’ Venne

Quinn ‘CCnC’ Callahan

Andrew ‘Jubei’ Evelynn

Bill ‘borster’ Oliver

Jaron ‘monkeys-forever’ Clinton
