11 million Dota 2 players

The game crossed 11 million unique players after almost 4 years.

Dota 2 reached 900k concurrent players just a couple days ago, a feat it had not achieved in a long time.

According to various reports, this can be credited to Dota Auto Chess. The arcade mini-game is reportedly becoming one of the reasons why new players are downloading Dota 2.

Another good cause is the game's new ranked season.

TNC Predator parts ways with ninjaboogie

TNC Predator have decided to part ways with their captain Michael 'ninjaboogie' Ross days following their short-handed attempt to qualify at the DreamLeague Season 11 Stockholm Major.

Carlo 'Kuku^' Palad will also be back to in-game leadership duties while still playing as an offlane.

Mason returns

The Dota 2 Pro has come together with CCnC to form Wut The Frog.

The new team appeared on FACEIT as one of the team registered for the open qualifiers of the Starladder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor.

Wut the Frog roster:

Mason ‘mason’ Venne

Quinn ‘CCnC’ Callahan

Andrew ‘Jubei’ Evelynn

Bill ‘borster’ Oliver

Jaron ‘monkeys-forever’ Clinton

Tigers play Starladder Minor without Mushi

Just a couple of weeks after consecutively announcing the addition of Dota 2 veterans Chai ‘Mushi’ Yee Fung and Danil ‘Dendi’ Ishutin, Tigers found themselves playing with one man less at the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor SEA Open Qualifier.

Instead, they have Kim ‘Velo’ Tae-sung who lastly played under WarriorsGaming.Unity.

Despite the lack of concise sources, Reddit fans are speculating that Mushi could be out in line with the Chinese New Year celebrations.

CCnC to stand in for Sumail

Sumail will not be playing at MDL Macau.

The announcement was made on Facebook, in which they said:

In the interest of maintaining our roster's health, we have given Sumail the chance to recharge with a much-needed vacation. Evil Geniuses prioritizes our talent's ability to pursue their goals in a healthy and productive way, and we believe this is the best course of action for our player's well-being. We hope you can understand and support our decision.

He will be replaced by CCnC, who has formed a new team with Mason called Wut The Frog, for the duration of the tournament.

New papercraft skins!

Pro player cheated using airpods

Gregory Haloin (player name: GregEmpire77) has been caught red-handed for cheating in one of the tournament matches for mobile game Clash Royale.

Using AirPods hidden beneath the tournament-provided headset, GregEmpire77 has been secretly communicating with his manager.

The incident happened at the Red Bull MEO by ESL 2019 World Finals.

Valve's 900k VAC bans

The Valve Anti-Cheat program is working extra miles as it imposed a record breaking 900K bans in January, just a month after recording a 600 VAC ban for December alone.

The ban activities are mostly attributed to CounterStrike: Global Offensive.

Daily VAC and game ban averages also range between 10-40K marks.

mousesports left with 3 members

mousesports are now down to three members after announcing the departure of Martin “STYKO” Styk and long-time member Chris “chrisJ” de Jong from the active roster.

In a blog post, the German based organization said that “a major change was necessary” following their not-so-impressive run at the IEM Katowice European Minor. They also hinted that they will rebuild their 2019 campaign centered on remaining members Miikka “sunny” Kemppi, Robin “ropz” Kool and Tomas “oskar” Stastny.
