Mushi reunites with BurNIng for Starladder Minor qualifiers

Looks like the Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung and Danil “Dendi” Ishutin duo ended abruptly as Mushi founds himself playing in China with Team Aster.

Team DK during 2014 led by Mushi and BurNIng

Four teams are fighting for two spots at the qualifiers of the Starladder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor namely Aster, Vici Gaming, Royal Never Give Up, and open qualifier winner Room310. Everything looked normal until Aster’s team registration showed that the SEA legend is indeed playing for the Chinese squad that is mentored by no other than Chinese legend Xu "BurNIng" Zhilei.

The SEA Legend replaced Gao “lover” Yuan. It is still unclear whether Mushi will play under Aster for good or just for this specific event only.

Just days ago, the SEA qualifiers for the Minor saw a Mushi-less Tigers that is instead reinforced by Kim “Velo” Tae-sung who was still part of WarriorsGaming.Unity prior to the open qualifiers of the region. Now with Mushi playing in China, it seems that his fresh stint with Theeban "1437" Siva’s team already comes to an end – despite the lack of official announcements.

Another mega-reunion

Fans are quick to cherish the Mushi-BurNIng era way back late 2013 under Team DK. During that period, the all-star cast of DK that also include another SEA legend in Daryl Koh "iceiceice" Pei Xiang won majority of the tournament they participated as well as numerous top placements. They came as heavy favorites at The International 2014 but ultimately fell short as they finished top 4. Despite the decent placement, this led to the disbandment of the squad as Mushi and iceiceice went back to the SEA region.

Now, this player-coach reunion between the two will be tested to waters as they vie for the last spot for the SLTV Minor.

They started out strong at the closed qualifiers by routing Vici Gaming 2-0. However, they were stopped by RNG at the upper bracket finals as the Du "Monet" Peng books their second Minor appearance for this season.

Aster goes to the lower bracket and they are set to play tomorrow for the last spot against the winner of the Vici Gaming and Room310 series.
