PieLieDie joins Mineski

PieLieDie has returned to SEA and will be taking Mushi's place at Mineski

Mineski has officially completed their roster, with PieLieDie  joining the team. The announcement was made on Mineski's official Twitter account, where the team posted a video announcing his joining.

Johan "pieliedie" Åström will be taking the place of Chai Yee ”Mushi” Fung, who left the team earlier this month. Mushi or Mineski did not inform the reason for his departure. Mushi just revealed that he had left the team and was a free agent, and he currently still is.

PieLieDie will be coming at a time when Mineski is struggling to keep up. After a 9-12th place finish at TI8, the team has not maintained their form. They could not qualify for neither the DreamLeague Minor nor the Kuala Lumpur Major. Last season, they had only two notable performances; first place at PGL Open Bucharest Minor and the win at DAC, which was the first win in a Major for any team from SEA.

This isn't the first time that Pieliedie will be playing from Southeast Asia. He has had quite some experience in the region. In the 2017-2018 Dota Pro Circuit Season, PieLieDie played for Fnatic. The team, of which even EternalEnvy was a part, qualified for TI8 but finished at 8th position, just a bit better than Mineski.

PieLieDie will debut as Mineski's position five at the regional qualifiers for ChongQing Major. The groups for the ChongQing Major regional qualifiers have already been announced, and Mineski has been grouped with Philippines’ TNC Pro Team, Malaysia’s Lotac, and Vietnam’s 496 Gaming.

Mineski's current Dota 2 squad is:

  1. Thiay "JT" Jun Wen

2. Kam "Moon" Boon Seng

3. Damien "kpii" Chok

4. Kim "Febby" Yong-min

5. Johan "pieliedie" Åström
