20 of the best PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS teams across Southeast Asia will battle it out at the PUBG SEA Championship to be held in Bangkapi, Thailand from June 23-24.

The final stretch of the PUBG SEA Championship will comprise top four teams of the National Championships that were held in the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the combined Nationals of Singapore and Malaysia.

Indonesia will be bannered by National Champions Team Baron, while Philippines will be led by Arkangel PUBG. Vietnam has Refund Gaming while Singapore & Malaysia will be fronted by MSK.Poseidon.

Meanwhile aspiring representatives from Thailand are set to face off on June 22. Like the other National Championships, Thailand will be represented by the top 4 teams from the tournament.

All teams will vie for the lion’s share of the $100,000 prize pool, but most importantly, only the winning team of the SEA Championships will have the opportunity to advance to the PUBG Global Invitational to be held at the esports history-rich Mercedes Benz Arena in Berlin, Germany.

All eyes on the Global Invitational

The PUBG Global Invitational will be the first major tournament to be officially hosted by the PUBG Corp., making it the biggest PUBG esport event to date. It will feature a whopping prize pool of $2 million to be fought over by 20 of the best PUBG teams across the globe.

PUBG Corp. CEO Changhan Kim noted in a blog post that it will be indeed a landmark for the game title.

“The PUBG Global Invitational 2018, is a landmark moment for PUBG Corp. as a showcase of the potential of PUBG esports. The team at PUBG Corp. is working tirelessly to ensure that the PGI 2018 exemplifies the pinnacle of PUBG competition and brings to life all of the excitement, tension and exhilaration of the highest level of PUBG play, not only to the fans attending the PGI 2018, but also those watching at home.”

The PUBG Southeast Asia Championships will be live from the MCC Hall, The Mall Bangkok, Thailand. The tournament will be streamed live across different languages. Local PUBG fans can also watch all the action conspire at the venue for absolutely free.
