TNC Predator qualifies for ESL One Katowice

TNC defeats Lotac to win the regional qualifiers for ESL One Katowice.

TNC has been in the limelight for all the wrong reasons lately. In the aftermath of the ban on Kuku from Chongqing Major, TNC replaced their long standing manager, Paulo Sy. Yesterday they announced that Kuku would be taking a “personal break”, but clarified that he is still with them.

Despite all the hardships, TNC still seems to be going strong. Today, the team qualified for the ESL One Katowice 2019, which will have a prize pool of $300,000. Although the tournament isn't on the DPC and will not provide DPC points, the prize pool is the same as that of a Dota 2 Minor.

The team started off with a direct invite to the regional qualifiers, with Ryoyr as a stand-in for Kuku. TNC lost its first series against Detonator, which pushed them into the lower bracket. Their second series was against Team Admiral, which they won with ease. The next match was against Detonator, which was TNC’s chance to exact revenge. TNC won the series 2-1, reaching the finals, where it would face Lotac. Lotac’s squad of veteran SEA players like Ohaiyo, Raven and Chuyan, wasn’t enough to escape the clutches of the Predators. Lotac eventually lost the series 3-1.

TNC will be heading to Poland to play in the ESL One Katowice which will take place from February 19-24, 2019 in the Spodek Arena.

The main event will take place on the last three days of the tournament.

In the EU regional qualifiers, Gambit Esports has qualified. Meanwhile, the regionals for NA and China are still underway.

The TNC Squad for ESL One Katowice 2019 is:

Pos 1: Kim Gabbi Villafuerte
2: Arel Armel Paul Tabios
3: Ryo ryOyr Hasegawa
4: Timothy Tims Randrup
5: Michael ninjaboogie Ross Jr.
